Sculpture of a torso of Heracles in Carrara marble dust. A Roman reproduction from the 2nd century located in the National Archaeological Museum of Madrid. Heracles, or Hercules in Rome, was a hero and demigod son of Zeus and a mortal woman, Alcmene. Heracles' most famous feat was the Twelve Labors, assigned by King Eurystheus as impossible tasks, which the demigod nonetheless managed to complete.
