Nu féminin, an original ink drawing by Charles L'Eplattenier (1874–1946) from Switzerland in the Art Déco style.
Description from the seller
Charles L'Eplattenier (1874–1946)
Female nude
Charcoal on paper
Charcoal drawing depicting a kneeling female nude, captured in a gathered and introspective pose. The work stands out for the solidity of the line and for the sculptural construction of the figure, rendered through a decisive yet sensitive mark, typical of the search of Charles L’Eplattenier, central figure of Swiss art between the late 19th and early 20th centuries and teacher of Le Corbusier.
The composition shows a strong attention to anatomy and volume, with a balance between direct observation from life and formal synthesis. The neutral background and the absence of narrative elements focus the gaze exclusively on the figure, giving the whole an intimate and timeless character.
On the reverse side there is a handwritten inscription attributing the drawing to the artist, a matter of documentary interest that reinforces the attribution and provenance of the work.
Dimensions of the drawing (sight size): 25 × 20 cm
Overall dimensions with mat and frame: 37 × 30 cm
Condition: good overall condition. Normal signs of aging on the paper, consistent with the age of the work. Modern frame with mat.
Shipping: the artwork will be shipped carefully packed. Postal shipment is the most economical method, but not the most protective for works on paper; upon request it is possible to arrange a more secure courier. Any import costs and processing times may also apply within Europe.
