Description from the seller
Set of 5 different types of tektites 110 g! Irghizites, Rizalite, Australites, Bediasite, Indochinite.
Irghizites are rare tektites, formed about 900,000 years ago during the impact of a meteorite in Kazakhstan, creating the Zhamanshin crater.
These black glasses, rich in detail and often fibrous in shape, result from the fusion of terrestrial rocks and meteoritic materials ejected into the atmosphere. They are black, very shiny, often small and elongated in shape ('fibers'). Their surface can be smooth, or feature open structures with gas bubbles.
Archaeologists have found irghizites at Paleolithic sites in the crater zone, suggesting they were used as amulets or ritual objects. In lithotherapy, they are considered high-energy stones, with a particular link to the earth and the solar plexus, aiding in protection and energetic cleansing.
Rizalites are a variety of tektites (natural glass formed by meteorite impacts) found in the Philippines, particularly in Rizal Province. They are about 710,000 years old, and are distinguished by their dark surface, often etched with deep grooves, and a shiny texture. They are prized by collectors for their rarity and cosmic origin.
Australian tektites are dark-colored (often black), silica-rich tektites found in Australia, resulting from the solidification of melted rocks during a major meteorite impact about 800,000 years ago. Famous for their aerodynamic shapes (buttons, discs), they inspired the design of the Apollo spacecraft reentry modules.
Bediasites are very rare tektites, found mainly in eastern Texas. Dating from 34 to 35 million years ago, these black glasses are associated with the Chesapeake Bay crater impact, part of the North American strewn field. They are named after the Bedias Indian tribe.
Indochinites are a variety of black tektites found mainly in Southeast Asia. Unlike ordinary terrestrial minerals, they originate from a major meteorite impact that occurred about 780,000 years ago. They are found in the vast Australasian strewn field, covering Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, and southern China. In lithotherapy, they are often associated with protection, grounding, and the expansion of consciousness due to their "celestial" origin.
