Description from the seller
I am presenting at auction this magnificent work executed in oil on canvas on panel, in an impressionist style that captures a timeless moment in Venice, where the warmth of the setting sun blends with the elegant bustle of the Riva degli Schiavoni.
With a vibrant brushstroke and an atmosphere that breathes romance, the artist manages to transport the viewer to an era of elegance and serenity.
It highlights the use of light to define forms rather than rigid lines, allowing the viewer's eye to complete the scene. There is a generous application of paint using an impasto technique in the light areas, which gives a very tactile texture as well as a color palette dominated by warm tones that subtly contrast with the bluish-violet blues of the water and the shadows, creating a harmonious chromatic balance.
The composition shows a perspective that guides the eye from the foreground to the iconic silhouette of San Giorgio Maggiore in the background, granting great visual depth.
An ideal work for collectors who seek pieces that not only decorate but also transform the space with a sense of openness and luminous calm.
