M.C. Escher is a Dutch artist known for his drawings of impossible figures and geometric transformations. In this artwork, Escher depicts reptiles seemingly emerging from a flat drawing, walking across a table, and then returning to the two-dimensional plane, playing with the illusion of three-dimensionality.
It is said that Escher was inspired by his keen observation of nature and geometry. A fun curiosity is that some interpret this work as a metaphor for routine and the repetition of life, as the reptiles appear to be trapped in an endless cycle of movement without ever reaching a final destination.
