Description from the seller

Cast-iron kettle from the 19th century - tripod pot with lid and handle.

This cast-iron kettle, a robust and evocative piece of 19th-century domestic history, embodies the charm and practicality of cooking over an open hearth. With its classic three-legged stand, rounded body, and fitting lid, it fulfilled both a functional and symbolic role in traditional kitchens.

The pot is made entirely of heavy cast iron and features a sturdy, curved handle and side loops for lifting the pot, as well as a matching lid with the number "1". The dark patina and signs of oxidation on the inside attest to its authentic age and use. This specimen is 20 cm tall with the handle raised, 20 cm wide including the handles, and 13.5 cm deep.

The tripod design made it ideal for use over an open fire, with a stable heat distribution. Although this antique kettle is now mainly decorative, it can still be used for a rustic display or as a focal point in vintage-inspired interiors.

The kettle is in old but solid condition and shows wear appropriate to its historical use, especially on the pot. An attractive collectible for lovers of antiques, iron cookware, or 19th-century kitchen utensils.
