Armand Boni was a master glassmaker who created lighting fixtures, vases, and other decorative objects, often using the pâte de verre (glass powder, glass paste) technique. This technique involves mixing glass shards or powder with colorants and binders, then firing the mixture into a mold. The result is a frosted, translucent glass with unique hues.
The signature "La Luciole," which means "firefly" in French, was a trademark of Boni. He used this name for his lighting fixtures because they literally "glow" in the dark, like fireflies.
