Description from the seller

Decorative element in carved wood and treated with mecca and gold leaf.
The motif is that of a sprig of a laurel branch with berries, all arranged in a symmetrical, pyramidal fashion.
and not naturalistic. This suggests a school of thought that adheres to stylistic conventions.
between the Neoclassical and the Empire. It brings to mind some decorative schemes for interior furnishings designed by
Agostino Fantastici (Siena 1782 - 1845), as in the Pharmacy of the Quattro Cantoni in Siena.
Apart from a small flaw, the object is intact and retains its original patina on the gilded surface.
