Pan - Copper, Wood - Antique bedpan

A splendid antique copper bedpan, fitted with a long wooden handle. The lid is beautifully decorated with a raised relief depiction of two figures and openwork motifs in star and heart shapes. This not only provided ventilation but also gave the bedpan a decorative character.

The pan is solidly constructed and has a beautiful, warm copper color with a natural patina that suits its age. The wooden handle sits nicely in the hand and completes the piece. This type of bed warmer was formerly used to warm the bed, but today it is mainly loved as a decorative or collectible object.
