Juan de Araez (1924-2014) - Pescadores

He studied at the Escuela Superior de Bellas Artes "Lonja del Mar" in Barcelona. A painter, draftsman, and illustrator, he resides and works in Alicante.

They have exhibited in Barcelona, Madrid, Bilbao, Valencia, Alicante, Murcia, Palma de Mallorca, Tenerife, Tarragona, Castellón, Vigo, Vitoria, Paris, Nice, Cannes, Caracas, Lisbon, Porto, Mexico City, etc..... Their works are in private collections in Spain and in foreign cities such as: San Francisco, New York, Caracas, Paris, Rome, Lisbon, Tokyo.....

He was a painter, draftsman, and illustrator, who for many years cultivated oil painting, achieving with his palette a technical command that has grown with time as he faced nature, uncovering its secrets with the most exquisite sensitivity.

Juan Araez was a colorist painter, spontaneous in drawing and in love with the magic of light. He embodies pictorial prudence; a born landscape painter, he captures the subject with the deft ease of those who master technique and know how to express themselves pictorially.
Everything seems to be born with fluidity; painting is breathing, in his case. And this is the difficult part: expressing it in painting is not within everyone's reach. He is an agile and harmonious colorist and a great connoisseur of drawing, whose master lines he dissolves in the swell of his well-coordinated chromatics. The result is a work that transmits emotion by bearing witness to reality.
