Description from the seller
Title: Fragmented Face #19
Series: Geometries of the Self
Technique: Acrylic on canvas
This painting presents a female portrait with a strong frontal stance and restrained serenity, built through a precise and balanced geometric composition. The face appears divided vertically into two contrasting halves that, far from opposing one another, complement each other: one dominated by cool blue tones, the other by warm, soft hues, suggesting a multiple and harmonious identity.
The eyes, almond-shaped and slightly half-closed, convey an introspective, almost meditational calm. The dark hair, treated as a compact, enveloping form, frames the face and reinforces the sense of unity. The lips, small and with a restrained red, act as a subtle focal point that brings life and balance to the composition.
The background, a blue sky speckled with light clouds, introduces a poetic and open dimension, contrasting with the portrait's rigorous structure. This element suggests freedom, thought, and silence, expanding the emotional space of the work.
The painting dialogues with Cubism and modern art, but it expresses itself with a contemporary and delicate sensibility. It is a portrait that invites contemplation, where geometry and color build a serene, introspective, and profoundly human presence.
The canvas is carefully rolled up and securely packaged in a sturdy square tube for shipment.
The images you are seeing now are examples of how the artwork can look when it is framed and hung on a wall.
