Sergio Zampieri - Meditation

Original unpublished artwork created by contemporary painter Sergio Zampieri (Rome, 1968).

The painting was created in two stages using mixed media techniques, oil and acrylic.
In the first phase, for the base subject, exclusively oil paints were used to allow a perfect fusion of the forms, starting from a dark background of Payne's gray and proceeding with the addition of lighter gradations such as white and gray for rendering the human face.
After the oils had dried, we proceeded with applying the final decoration using acrylic pastes in iridescent colors: golden yellow, gilt gold, silver, bronze, and pearl white.
The final effect, as seen in the photographs, is the result of a highly material work in iridescence, with a play of light and shadow that shapes itself depending on the position of the light source.
