Description from the seller
This dresser is a distinctive original piece of furniture from Fritz Schröder K.G., Möbelwerkstätten, dating from the 1960s, which has been carefully and stylistically aptly reinterpreted.
The cabinet is clad in real teak veneer and displays the warm, lively grain that is typical of high-quality mid-century furniture from that era. The surface is in a well-kept, solid condition.
The front design has been newly conceived and deliberately executed as a graphic statement: On a deep black background, a dynamic composition of diagonal lines and geometric shapes in pink, orange and violet unfolds. The color and form language takes up the expressive graphic aesthetics of the late 1960s/early 1970s and gives the furniture a clear art-object character, without masking the original substance. Each surface has been meticulously worked out – it is a one-of-a-kind piece.
The doors can be opened fully and reveal a functionally laid-out interior. Several shelves provide generous storage space and emphasize the solid craftsmanship of the original.
The new frame and the edges on the sides are a modern addition: slim, finished in black, sturdily constructed and formally oriented toward period-typical mid-century legs. For shipping, the frame is removable, which greatly eases transport and handling.
Overall, this piece of furniture blends authentic 1960s substance with a contemporary, artistic reinterpretation. A dresser for collectors and interiors that value originality, history, and bold design.
There are authentic small scratches and signs of wear on the wood.
