Description from the seller

Up for auction is a splendid and iconic Canon Dial 35-2, produced in Japan starting in 1968. This camera is a cult classic in the world of collecting and

This is a 'Half-Frame' (Mezzo Formato) camera: it takes images sized 18x24 mm on standard 35mm film. This allows you to get 72 exposures (or more) on a normal 36-exposure roll.
Its distinctive feature is the clockwork motor integrated into the lower cylindrical grip: by manually winding the spring, the camera advances the film automatically after each shot, without the need for batteries for the advance.

Technical Specifications
• Manufacturer: Canon Inc., Japan
• Model: Dial 35-2 (improved version of the original Dial 35)
• Lens: Canon SE 28mm f/2.8 (5 elements in 3 groups). Sharp and bright.
• Shutter: Mechanical, with speeds from 1/30 to 1/250 of a second.
• Focusing: A zone (via symbols in the reticle) with distance estimation.
• ISO/ASA sensitivity: adjustable from 10 to 1000 ASA via the iconic front dial (reminiscent of the rotary dial on old telephones).
• Power for the light meter: Requires 1 PX625 1.3V battery (for the automatic light meter). Note: the camera can fire the shutter mechanically even without a battery.

The item is in good to very good cosmetic condition for its age (see detailed photos).
• Camera body: Solid structure. There are normal signs of wear and light scratches on the silver-painted finish due to use (visible especially on the rear edges), which do not detract from its beauty.
The black faux leather parts are intact.

The wind-up (mainspring) winding mechanism winds correctly.
• The shutter clicks.
• Optics: The objective appears clean upon visual inspection.
• Film chamber and seals: The interior is clean; however it should be noted that the light seals are original and degraded (crumbling due to age, visible in the photo). For optimal photographic use, the buyer will need to replace the foam gaskets (routine maintenance for cameras of this era).
• Electronics/Exposure meter: The battery compartment is present and appears free of significant corrosion (original sticker present).
