Emilio Garcia was born in the winter of 1981 near Barcelona, Spain. He has a long career as a freelance art director and visual artist. Since 1999 he has collaborated with renowned international companies such as Berlitz Kids, Hitachi, Diesel, Inditex, Metro, Vans or The North Face, specializing in graphic animation and multimedia content. His work has been published in Taschen Favorite Websites and Web Design Index Books.
Emilio, worried about the digitization of our society, has slowly watched his culture drift away from the tangible. In response, he stopped his multimedia career and embraced touch. Drawn to the fascination with plastic, he begins a new phase with the Secret Lapo Laboratories, a space for plastic experiments, where he can give substance to his artistic agitation, far from bits, clicks, databases and scripts. From this desire to create a form with his own hands, the Jumping Brain virus was born. As his first independent project, the Jumping Brain became a sensation overnight, followed by his other signature piece, the skullbrain.
