Achille Lega (1899-1934) was an artist trained in Florence and initially influenced by the Macchiaioli before joining the Futurism movement, and later moving within the Tuscan 20th-century environment. 'Covoni' oil on panel measuring 78x60 cm without a frame and 87x72 cm with a frame... signature at the bottom right (A Lega). The scene depicts a hilly countryside with three large haystacks, a wooden ladder leaning against the central haystack, trees in the background, and gentle mountain ridges.
