Description from the seller
This is an interesting vintage photograph of a good size, 19.6 x 24.6 cm, taken by Willi Maywald, a well-known German photographer specializing in portraits and photographs of famous people, especially artists.
There are well-known photographs by him of Picasso, Henry Moore, Le Corbusier, Fernand Leger, Utrillo, Hans Hartung, George Braque, Matisse, Vasarely, Miró, Tamara De Lempicka, Marc Chagall and many others, among whom, precisely, Massimo Campigli, photographs of whom have evidently also appeared at international auctions; in fact, Maywald has sold his photographs at auction houses such as Tajan, Lempertz, Bloomsbury, Artcurial, Sothebys, and others...
This image, taken in 1965, depicts the famous painter Massimo Campigli, photographed in his studio with some of his paintings.
This is a genuine vintage photograph, duly stamped by Maywald, and also by a famous Italian magazine of the era, which later published the photograph.
The cosmetic condition is good, with light creases on three corners; guaranteed to be 100% original vintage.
