Description from the seller
This is an interesting and rare photograph by the well-known Hungarian/Swiss photographer PaulAlmasy (1906-2003), depicting a Maya woman in the village of Pinsé, near the famed pyramid of Kukulkan, in the Chichen Itza region, today fully up-to-date, but in the 1960s still inhabited by the Maya population.
It is a photograph of good size, 23.5 x 24 cm, and it is a truly very beautiful and meaningful image of Almasy’s photographic culture.
Duly stamped on the back 'Almasy', as with many of his images that have gone to auction, and also by a famous Italian magazine of the era that had published the photograph in September 1967.
The photo is in excellent condition and guaranteed authentic.
