Description from the seller
Antique net or chainmail coin purse made of sterling silver from the Art Nouveau period (around 1900)
The object in the picture is an antique net or chain-mail purse, typically dating from the Art Nouveau period (around 1900). This type of purse, often referred to as a chatelaine purse, was commonly worn as a pendant on a chain or belt.
The wallet is distinguished by its fine mesh or chain weave, which is attached to an ornate metal frame. The closure is a buckle clasp, and at the bottom as well as at the top there are small silver spheres as decoration.
Design: The wallet features a decorative, arched metal frame with a classic ball clasp. At the bottom edge, several small, dangling silver balls are set as decorative accents. A small ring on the clasp suggests that it could originally be worn on a chatelaine (a belt hook).
Condition: Excellent for its age, with natural, age-related patina that enhances the antique character. The fine chain is completely intact, with no cracks or missing links.
Stamp on the top of the closure.
Two separate compartments, fully functional.
Pure material value 50–60 EUR
Use: A luxurious and stylish accessory of its era, intended for storing coins or small personal items.
