Vintage Chinese glass snuff bottle in marbled soda-lime art glass with millefiori-influenced canework, multicolour, 8 × 5 × 2.5 cm, original metal-mounted stopper and spoon, very good condition with light signs of ageing.
Description from the seller
This vibrant Chinese snuff bottle is crafted in marbled soda-lime art glass, decorated using a millefiori-influenced canework technique. The body is composed of fused and twisted glass canes that create swirling “thousand-flower” patterns in rich tones of green, black, yellow, and orange.
These layered, flowing motifs give the piece striking visual depth and the lively, mosaic-like character associated with millefiori decoration, while still reflecting the aesthetics of 20th-century Chinese studio craftsmanship.
The bottle retains its original metal-mounted stopper and spoon, with light signs of historical use. The stopper appears to be made from either painted hardstone or a glass cabochon, secured in a small metal collar.
The glass surface remains clean and intact, with no chips or cracks—a very well-preserved example of its type.
