Oil painting on canvas by Andrea Oliva titled 'the bull', original edition, 50 × 70 cm, hand-signed, produced in Italy in the 2000s.
Description from the seller
An oil-on-canvas painting, already mounted on a wooden stretcher by a contemporary artist, signed, depicting a bull in a static pose with the classic stance of anticipation, the gaze looking forward and the head slightly bowed, which heighten the bull’s imposing presence thanks also to the clean volumes and chiaroscuro that highlight an almost robotic anatomy. It will be carefully packaged and shipped by courier.
Biography
Born in Milan on 15/02/1973.
At 15, he enrolled in a classical high school, attended for a year, then decided to follow his instinct, left the gymnasium, and enrolled in the Caravaggio Art High School, where he graduated in 1992. He then attended the Brera Academy of Fine Arts, while simultaneously participating in ateliers of already established artists and beginning a long period of collaboration with some of them, from whom he learned specific sculpture techniques. He also worked for a period at the historic plaster workshop 'Fumagalli e Dossi,' where he learned casting and mold-making techniques. He started a consistent series of solo exhibitions, the first in 1994, and participated in sculpture symposia and competitions. He also became an artist member of the Museo della Permanente in Milan. Additionally, he dedicated himself to painting and poetry writing, some of which were published in specialized magazines.
Create on commission the plaques for 'Doctorate in Chemical Sciences and Industrial Chemistry' for the University of Milan in 2004 and for the University of Insubria (Varese Como) in 2005.
He created several public monuments, one of the most important being a funerary monument located in the Milan Main Cemetery.
Lives and works in Mezzago, Milan.
