German military Reservist beer stein from the period of the German Empire (Kaiserreich), dated circa 1895–1910.
The stein is made of hand-painted stoneware and shows detailed military scenes with Prussian infantry soldiers in uniform, carrying rifles and a regimental flag. Typical patriotic inscriptions such as “Es lebe der Reservemann” are present, commemorating the completion of military service.
The stein is fitted with its original pewter lid, featuring a figurative soldier finial and an additional decorative lion on the handle. Inside the stein, a painted bottom image is visible, which is an important feature for collectors.
This type of stein was traditionally produced as a personal souvenir for reservists after their active military service and is today a sought-after collectible in the field of German militaria.
Condition:
