Description from the seller
Antique heavy gilded frames, painting frame – Rustic interior of grandma or nanny with a child and an older man – Baroque frame – 55 x 50 cm (frame) – Frame almost 15 cm thick – about 4 kg Origin: Italian
Beautiful, warm and characterful antique painting in a heavy Baroque frame weighing nearly 4 to 5 kilograms. A rustic interior and family scene with two figures that resembles a grandmother or nursery maid tending the child’s hair; in wealthier families this was often the task of nannies, typical 19th‑century style, perfect for an interior that loves history, coziness and Catholic-inspired domesticity. A real eye-catcher and conversation piece. Ideal as a Christmas gift; we are aiming to deliver all packages before Christmas.
The real value lies in the frames: two ornamental masterpieces that will be a true eye-catcher in any interior.
The frame is richly detailed, deeply carved, and almost 15 cm thick, giving the work a monumental appearance. The piece is in beautiful, authentic condition with light signs of aging.
Dimensions: approx. 55 x 50 cm (frame).
Weight: about 4 kg.
