His role was the training of Congolese Commandos (Force Publique - Armée Nationale Congolaise ANC).
Stabilization operations during the independence of Congo (1960)

The Belgian Para Commandos used black flags with a yellow leopard as a symbol of strength, speed, and jungle environment.
