Magnificent encyclopedic work from the early 20th century, designed as a comprehensive guide to Northeast Europe for schoolchildren. A genuine historical record, richly documented.
Format: Impressive in-folio volume (large format).
Content: 501 pages dealing with monuments, history, politics, and art.
Illustrations: about 250 engravings and period illustrations.
Binding: Superb publisher's cloth binding in red cloth. The covers and the spine are richly adorned with colorful illustrations and gold titles/ornaments.
Finishes: light blue guards and golden edges.
Binding & Cover: Overall good condition; the work has retained beautiful colors and a solid structure.
Defects to note: Wear from use at the ends (caps and corners).
Some areas with missing gilding.
Slight damp stains on the upper part of the spine causing a slight darkening.
Some scattered stains and discolorations (see photos).
