Pedro Rey, Arches, 2026, steel sculpture, 40 × 29 × 15 cm, edition 2/15, Spain, in excellent condition, Certificate of Authenticity, abstract style.
Description from the seller
Arches, 2025. Edition 1/15.
"Arches" represents the essence of geometric synthesis. Through the use of matte black planes, the artist explores the intersection of the circle and the straight line, creating a structure that plays with perspective and the void.
The piece is composed of two main panels that meet at an angle, where a series of concentric, cut-out arches create a sense of depth and transparency. It is a work that invites the viewer to move around it, as its silhouette changes dramatically from a linear profile to a composition of perfect semicircles.
29x40x15cm.
Created by the Spanish sculptor Pedro Rey (born 1977), his artistic career began self-taught in 1998. After attending several study workshops such as painting, photography, and sculpture, he decided to focus his work on this.
Most recently, in these last few years, sculpture has taken on full prominence in his work.
Competitions in which he has been selected:
-2020. Selected for the Askatasunarte International Contest,
-2021. Selected for the 25th Pere Jou Sculpture Competition.
-2023. Selected for the 17th City of Badajoz Sculpture Prize.
-2024. Shortlisted for the 61st Queen Sofia Prize.
