German Imperial Reservist beer stein from the German Empire (Kaiserreich), dated 1906–1908.
This stein commemorates service in the 3rd Battery, Landau, as indicated by the inscription on the base.
The stein is made of hand-painted stoneware and features detailed artillery scenes, including horse-drawn cannons and soldiers in Imperial German uniforms. A central inscription highlights the soldier’s 12 years of service (“12 – meine Dienstzeit”), emphasizing its role as a traditional military farewell and commemorative piece.
It is fitted with an original pewter lid, richly decorated with relief scenes, a crowned heraldic lion on the handle, and a cannon finial on top, reflecting its artillery unit origin. The lid is complete and functional. Inside the stein, a painted bottom image is present, a desirable feature for collectors.
