Description from the seller
Germany. Munich. 3 Mark. 1911. Otto I of Bavaria (1886-1913)
Value: 3 Mark
- Reign: Otto I of Bavaria (1886-1913).
Year: 1911.
Inscriptions: Obverse: OTTO KOENIG VON BAYERN with a bust to the left. Reverse: DEUTSCHES REICH · 1911 · DREI MARK with an imperial crowned eagle.
- Grade: MS62 (NGC).
3-Mark silver coin of the Kingdom of Bavaria, struck at the Munich mint, featuring a left-profile portrait of King Otto I in a sober and realistic style characteristic of early 20th-century German numismatics. The bust modeling presents soft features and balanced proportions, with minimal wear visible. The reverse depicts the crowned German imperial eagle with a central shield, with strong heraldic presence and good detail in the plumage and ornaments. The specimen retains well-defined reliefs, relatively clean fields, and an attractive original luster dulled by a light silvery-gray patina, with small surface marks in keeping with its grade, offering a solid and homogeneous appearance.
