Pancho Porto (Santiago de Compostela, 1988) began his training in the specialty of artistic woodworking at the Antonio Failde center in Ourense. At this school, he first encountered disciplines such as carving, drawing, and modeling, and most importantly, working in the workshop.
Later on, he enrolled at the Mestre Mateo School of Arts and Crafts in Santiago de Compostela, where he studied what would become his main discipline: sculpture. It was at this school that he began working with materials that would be fundamental in his work, such as steel and clay. Simultaneously, Porto continued his personal development and researched other materials like bronze and resins, exploring their various uses and finishes, ultimately choosing bronze and steel as the definitive materials for his works.

After this initial training phase, he decided to set up his workshop on the banks of the Sarela River, very close to where he was born. It is here that he begins his particular investigation, both theoretical and practical, into the relationship between the materials used in each work and the message they convey. This leads him to seek new ways to communicate and narrate his story. Since then, this has become the usual tone of his works, adding complexity and depth to his entire body of work, with themes that touch on both social issues and his personal experiences.
