Carlo Trevisan presents Arco d'Amore, an original oil on canvas (36 x 36 cm) from 2025 depicting plants and flowers in a surreal style, hand-signed and produced in Italy, sold directly from the artist.
Description from the seller
The work suspends, in the void of a clear sky animated by light clouds, a paradoxical weapon. Here, the artist reinterprets the classical iconography of Cupid's bow, transforming it into an organic and living object.
The bow is not made of inert wood, but seems to evoke a flexible and natural structure, while the arrow is replaced by a long-stemmed red rose.
The pink arrow keeps its thorns. This detail is fundamental: Trevisan reminds us that love, though it is beauty (the corolla) and life (the green leaves), carries with it a necessary component of risk and suffering.
The bow is cocked and ready to shoot, but it floats in a gravity-free void. This suspension emphasizes the ethereal and unpredictable nature of falling in love, which seems not to obey the laws of the material world.
Millimeter-perfect precision in the rendering of the petals and leaves harmoniously contrasts with the softness of the blue background. The artist's signature, positioned centrally at the bottom, seals a perfectly symmetric and clean composition, where every element is reduced to the essentials to maximize emotional impact.
