Carlo Trevisan's original 2025 oil on canvas artwork 'Lovers', 36 × 36 cm, depicting two hats as a couple with a red rose, signed by hand, in excellent condition, sold directly by the artist.
Description from the seller
In this painting, titled, we return to exploring the universe of relationships through the use of symbolic objects, replacing bodies with icons of timeless elegance. The work presents itself as a poetic still image, where the physical absence of the protagonists is filled by a dense and romantic visual narrative.
The composition stages the meeting of two hats, symbols of male and female identities from another era, which seem to converse in an ethereal space.
A shiny black top hat and a refined cream-colored women's hat are placed side by side. They represent a pair that, though faceless, radiates a vibrant presence and a deep connection.
From the top hat, a lush red rose emerges, tilting toward the woman's hat. It is a gesture of courtesy and devotion, a floral tribute blooming directly from the heart of masculine identity.
The red ribbon with the floral detail on the women's hat echoes the color of the rose, creating an immediate visual and emotional bond between the two "lovers".
As in other works by Trevisan, the blue sky dotted with small white and fluffy clouds withdraws the scene from the gravity of daily life, projecting love into a universal and timeless dimension.
Trevisan confirms himself as a master of a refined Surrealism. The formal clarity and the precision in rendering the materials—from the rigidity of the cylinder to the softness of fabrics and petals—transform inanimate objects into guardians of deep emotions.
