Description from the seller
Original vintage poster from the French series “C’est à la France que le monde doit ses ailes”, illustrated by Lucien Cavé.
Subject: Henri Fabre – “First flight of the first seaplane” (28 March 1910), splendid Art Deco composition with a seaplane in flight over the sea and coast in the background. One of the most sought-after subjects of the series.
Credits on the plate complete and clearly legible: signature 'Lucien Cavé', inscription 'Édité par le Secrétariat Général à la Défense Aérienne' and printer 'La Publicité Synchronisée Lyon-Paris'.
Format: 38 × 29 cm. Back: white with normal transparency/“ghosting” of the print, typical of vintage paper.
Very good condition, with vibrant colors (blue/red) and excellent readability of the text. Normal signs of aging present:
slight patina / warm tone at the edges (age toning),
Minimize wear on edges and corners.
Identify pinpricks and superficial signs of manipulation visible in backlight.
No obvious restoration. Sold as shown in the photos, which are an integral part of the description.
Professional packaging: protective tissue paper + rigid cartons (flat shipping recommended) or rigid tube available on request. Moisture protection.
