A evocative full-figure devotional portrayal of Saint Joseph. The Saint, with a halo and a humble gaze cast downward, holds the staff from which white lilies sprout, his traditional iconographic attribute.
The composition is dominated by the voluminous drapery of the yellow-ochre cloak enveloping the figure over a dark tunic, standing out against a vaporous and indistinct background of clouds.
A work of popular or provincial taste, characterized by a strong devotional quality.
In good condition with signs of age, it does not require immediate restoration.

The two paintings were purchased in Arezzo in the 1980s.
