Description from the seller
Cor Schaap (1968) is a Dutch painter, born and raised in the fishing village of Katwijk aan Zee. Close to the coast, he works on his oil paintings, which mainly focus on local and regional subjects. His work includes both contemporary scenes and historical depictions, created both in the studio and en plein air.
In particular, their sea views are increasingly appreciated by an international audience. These works are sold through renowned galleries, including Galerie Gabriëls on Noordeinde in The Hague, which has been a well-known art dealer of masterpieces since 1974.
The painting offered here is a particularly lovely coastal scene, executed in oil on panel and supplied with a matching frame. The work stands out for its very beautiful, sunny colors, in a harmonious color palette. The sunny view through to the water's edge feels refreshing and uplifting, and it makes this painting a distinctive little work of art that comes into its own when hung on a wall.
