Cor Schaap (1968) - Strandgezicht

Cor Schaap (born 1968) is a Dutch painter, born and raised in the fishing village Katwijk aan Zee. A short distance from the coast, he works on his oil paintings, in which local and regional subjects are mainly central. His work encompasses both contemporary scenes and historical scenes and arises both in the studio and en plein air. Schaap received his training from the well-known Hague artist Joop van Leeuwen.

Notably, Cor Schaap's seascapes are garnering increasing appreciation from an international audience. These works are sold through renowned galleries, including Galerie Gabriëls on Noordeinde in The Hague, which since 1974 has been a well-known dealer in masterpieces.
