Angelo Scardino's unique contemporary sculpture titled 'Custode della Trasformazione', made from PLA and resin, measures 30 cm square with a 15 cm depth, weighs 1 kg, hand-signed, dated 2026, from Italy.
Description from the seller
Contemporary sculptural work by Angelo Scardino, made of PLA and resin, that blends classical iconography and symbolic imagery.
The sculpture depicts a scarab, an archetype of rebirth and transformation, whose carapace, decorated with motifs reminiscent of traditional blue-and-white porcelain, opens to reveal a human face in translucent amber resin.
The contrast between the ornamental surface and the organic interior creates a visual tension between identity, protection, and vulnerability.
The artwork is mounted on a blue circular base, which heightens the sense of suspension and the object’s ritual centrality, rendering it similar to a contemporary relic or a secular votive offering.
The work explores the theme of metamorphosis and the relationship between the exterior and identity, between cultural decoration and inner nature. A piece that engages with ancient symbolisms reinterpreted through contemporary materials and techniques.
A unique piece of contemporary Italian art, symbol of the dialogue between technological innovation and human sensitivity.
Insured and traceable shipping, with professional packaging and a certificate of authenticity signed by the artist.
