This is the Original 1999 US First Edition of Mr. Bungle’s third and final studio masterpiece, California. Moving away from the abrasive chaos of Disco Volante, this album is a lush, cinematic descent into the dark heart of the American dream. It seamlessly blends 1960s surf rock, lounge, psychobilly, and traditional pop with Mike Patton’s unmatched vocal acrobatics.

This release is famous not just for its musical complexity—featuring everything from glockenspiels to cymbalums—but also for the controversy surrounding its release date, which was famously delayed due to conflict with the Red Hot Chili Peppers' Californication. As an original first pressing, this cassette is a vital piece of 90s experimental history and is becoming increasingly difficult to find in a factory-sealed state.
