Born in 1958 in Queens, New York, Quik is a living legend of graffiti. He began his career in the 1970s, leaving his name on the cars of the New York subway. Unlike many of his peers, he early on incorporated a social and introspective dimension into his art, blending the aesthetics of the tag with critical messages about society and his own life.
Recognized for his stylized characters and his sharp humor, he has managed to translate the energy of the street onto canvas since the 1980s. Today, his works are exhibited in prestigious museums such as MoMA.
