Born in 1986, Mr. Oreke is a self-taught French artist who describes his work as 'Street Pop Art.' In the early 2000s, he encountered the visual arts through graffiti practice. Equipped with spray paint, he initially decorated walls with colorful drawings before extending his work onto canvas. His style inherits from the pop art movement and the aesthetics of comics. Abstraction predominates in his early years. Mr. Oreke's uniqueness is perceived in his backgrounds, primarily created with spray paint, reminiscent of graffiti. The artist combines ink with acrylics, and sometimes eclectic elements such as banknotes. His storytelling, tinged with humor, is imbued with whimsy and liberating energy. A formal freedom is also expressed through a mix of collages, drips, typographic elements... echoing comic strips.
