Description from the seller

DESCRIPTION

Thai ritual candle holders called Popil, fan-shaped and made of bronze. In Thailand, these objects are used as amulets.

The first dimension is 13.2 cm in height, 7.2 cm in width and weighs 173 g. It represents Phra Mae, the earth goddess venerated in Southeast Asian Buddhism, and particularly in Thailand. She is famous for appearing before the Buddha and for drowning the army of the demon Mara by wringing her hair. This is the depiction you find on this amulet.

The second measures 11.7 cm in height, 6 cm in width and weighs 95 g. It could represent Hanuman, a Hindu deity depicted as a man with a monkey face, known for his strength and courage. Very beautiful patina.

State

Good condition but bear the marks of their age and use; the handle is missing on one and there is a casting defect at the back of the second (see photos).

Professional packaging, traceable shipment.
