Description from the seller
I was fascinated by the contrast between the ephemeral and the enduring. In this image I tried to capture the moment of absolute lightness of the dandelion, while giving it, at the same time, almost architectural strength.
What distinguishes this image is the process by which it was created and its distinctive layering.
The background was built from interpenetrating shades of ochre, bronze, and sepia. I applied a lasering technique that gives the canvas the look of old parchment or bare earth, creating an organic foundation for the rest of the composition.
The same dandelions are the result of hundreds of small, steady pulls.
This is not a flat painting. The inflorescences have a palpable texture under the fingers (impasto), which makes them protrude from the frame under the right lighting, creating a three-dimensional effect.
Three dandelions are not just plants — they are symbols of the perfect geometry of nature. Their spherical form suggests fullness and harmony, and the white-gold reflections add a touch of nobility to them. It is a tribute to the beauty that we only notice when we pause for a moment.
I wanted the image to be, on the one hand, calming and natural thanks to earthy tones, and on the other hand—intriguing and modern through its technical precision.
An earthy color palette makes the painting blend perfectly with natural materials such as wood, stone, or linen.
Thanks to the use of golden accents and an embossed texture, the painting 'works' in the room – in the morning it seems delicate, and in the evening it gains depth and mystery.
A painting with painted edges, ready to hang.
