Yves Offret (1946 – 2004)
Norman painter
Born in 1946, Yves Offret dedicated his life to painting, developing a body of work deeply rooted in his native Normandy. His studio, located in Conches-en-Ouche, was the site of an attentive pictorial exploration of the region's landscapes, changing lights, and atmospheres.
In the 1980s, he notably exhibited at the Galerie Tuffier in Les Andelys, where his work drew the attention of an audience sensitive to the poetry of his paintings. Faithful to a personal approach, Offret favors an intimate style of painting, where nature and scenes of life transform into sensitive evocations imbued with serenity.
Deceased in 2004, Yves Offret leaves behind a discreet but sincere body of work that testifies to an artist's attachment to his land and the simple beauty of everyday life.
