Dainty vintage double photo frame in sterling silver (.925) by Mario Buccellati from the 1930s–40s, double-signed on the base and side, weighing 380 g with external 14 cm by 21.5 cm and internal 9.5 by 8 cm, in good used condition with signs of age and spots.
Description from the seller
Prestigious vintage double frame, made in sterling by the famous goldsmith Mario Buccellati, father of Gianmaria Buccellati and Federico Buccellati.
Mario Buccellati was the founder of the first Buccellati jewelry workshop.
The frame dates from the 1930s-1940s and is in excellent condition.
Items of this kind are not easily found on the market.
The frame bears the double signature of the goldsmith, on the base of the pedestal that supports it and on the side of the frame. Both signatures are visible in the photos.
A collectible and rare item, present in many auction catalogs.
The weight of the frame, including the two small glass panes, is 380 grams.
The frame presented in this lot is almost entirely unobtainable; the same model, but with a single frame instead of a double, can be found sold at some auction houses, which adds rarity to this lot.
The box in the photo belongs to Federico Buccellati; it is not the original box for the frame and is sent as a complimentary gift.
