Rolex Submariner 16610/16610LV, 38 × 38 × 1 mm, condition never worn, featuring a rare 2003 green Fat Four bezel insert NOS (originally blistered).
Description from the seller
Rolex Rare green insert Fat Four original Rolex for Submariner 16610 - code B315-16610-14-A1.
The insert is NOS, produced only in 2003 - out of production after 2003 - still in the original blister, intact and sealed.
Rolex in 2003, for the Submariner's fiftieth anniversary, marketed a special version—the reference 16610—with a black dial and a bezel with a green insert.
Subsequently, the reference name will be changed to 16610LV.
As has happened in the past, the first production features details that disappear in later versions, thereby increasing its collectible value.
In fact, only in the first version from 2003 does a bezel with a green insert appear, featuring a 4 that uses a peculiar character, the so-called Fat Four or Flat Four, whose characteristic is that the apex is flat, so that inside the numeral a trapezoid is formed rather than a triangle as in the later ones, which is why this is a great rarity.
Market-wise, the price of a 'normal' used Submariner 16610LV can reach €15,000; the Fat Four version, all else equal, sits at €21,000–€22,000. To reach €30,000 in NOS (new old stock) condition.
To clarify, this insert may be of interest to someone who already owns a Submariner 16610 with a black bezel insert or a 16610 with the standard green insert, or a 16610LV with the standard green insert, strictly from the year 2003, serials Y or F. Naturally, under these conditions, mounting this insert would increase the value of the watch.
Tracked and insured shipping.
