Description from the seller
An enchanting advertising poster dedicated to the Folies Bergère, the famous Parisian theater, featuring a depiction of Cléo de Mérode, the iconic ballerina and a symbol of the Belle Époque.
The image shows the dancer in an elegant pose, captured from behind during a dance step, with a flowing tutu and ballet slippers, conveyed with great graphic delicacy and compositional harmony.
Note: this is a later edition, probably from the 1970s.
Dimensions: 68 x 47 cm
The manifesto faithfully reproduces the graphic language of the great French poster artists of the late 19th century, with flat color blocks, soft outlines, and a warm, powdery palette that evokes the originals of the era. The sinuous, decorative typography helps to reinforce the theatrical and refined atmosphere of the work.
Printed on uncoated paper, it has a natural patina of age, with slight waviness, signs of wear and yellowing consistent with its age and the poster’s decorative purpose. It is an ideal item for collectors of French advertising graphics, lovers of theater and dance, or for vintage decor with great charm.
