Description from the seller
L'Écho des Feuilletons – Complete collection spanning 10 years / 10 volumes (from the first to the tenth year) – 1841–1849 – Numerous engravings – Period bindings
A rare 10-volume set of L'Écho des Feuilletons, spanning ten years (from the First to the Tenth year), dated 1841 to 1849 (see the title pages in the photos).
It is a nineteenth-century literary collection gathering texts from the contemporary press: short stories, legends, anecdotes, episodes, and novels, with numerous engravings (plates and illustrations), typical of French Romantic edition.
These volumes offer a vivid panorama of the great popular literature of the era, with major authors (depending on the volume) such as Alexandre Dumas, Eugène Sue, George Sand, etc., published at the time in the form of serial installments.

• Normal wear: rubbing, corners/headcaps may be slightly marked depending on the volumes
• A well-balanced and presentable set, ideal for a collection, library décor, or reading.
In the 19th century, the feuilleton lies at the heart of popular culture: major novels appeared in installments in newspapers, creating a weekly suspense that captivated the public. L’Écho des Feuilletons is born precisely from this dynamic: to offer, in the form of bound volumes, a selection of notable narratives published in the contemporary press, bringing together short stories and serialized novel chapters in a durable, illustrated collection.
The title is also linked to the buzz surrounding illustrated editions of the era: one finds publications "at the Bureau de L'Écho des feuilletons" for major literary works (including 19th-century illustrated editions of Dumas), proof of the importance of this publishing house/label in the dissemination of literature in serialized form.
In short: an emblematic collection of 19th-century romantic literature and mass-market reading, spanning literature, the press, and illustration, which today is sought after in complete sets for its decorative quality and cultural testimony.
