More info about the artist:
Michiel Folkers, also known as Gieler (1982), started with graffiti in Amsterdam in the late 1990s. Years later, he swapped the street walls for canvas in his studio. Much of his work still vividly reflects the feeling of the streets. He is especially known for his layered paintings, large works in which he combines colorful street posters with spray paint and acrylic paint. He collects these street posters himself for each individual artwork and uses them as the basis for all his pieces.
At the moment his work is traveling the world and he is exhibiting in galleries from Zurich to New York. His work is especially popular in America, and it hangs in the homes of several 'famous people'.
