Mrs.Cilinder - Flowerescent

"Flowerescent" is a hypnotic work of contemporary surrealism that dissolves the boundaries between a human portrait and botanical still-life painting. Against a dramatic, deep red background, a young woman faces the viewer, whose true nature literally breaks through.

The face of the female protagonist is not only adorned with flowers, but seems to be permeated by them. Lavender, pink petals and fine buds grow organically from her skin—across the cheeks, the forehead and merge with her hair into a living crown. This depiction symbolizes growth, change and the inseparable bond to nature.

The intense, fixed gaze of the woman stands in a striking contrast to the wild, organic chaos of the blossoms. Her clothing, a high-necked garment in cool white and blue tones, appears almost aristocratic and provides a calm counterpoint to the color explosion in her face.

About the artist: I am Zofia Fischer, internationally known as Mrs. Cilinder. Born in Poland and rooted in Germany for almost 30 years, I devote myself to acrylic painting. My works are often windows into surreal worlds where emotions take physical form. In “Flowerescent” I worked with bold color contrasts. The rich red of the background serves as a stage to highlight the delicacy and detail of each petal. It is a play with beauty and a light, surreal distortion.
