The work, fictitiously attributed to Theophrastus, describes with tones of sharp satire, humor, finesse, and mockery the characters, human types, and the morals of the era. Social and political critique, an essential chronicle of the spirit of the 17th century. Full-leather binding of the period. Title in a gold inlay on the spine. Spine with raised cords, entirely decorated with gold ornaments. Frontispiece in red and black. Dimensions 17 x 10 cm, pages preliminaries 30, main text 587, plates 4. Small loss at the top of the spine. Reddening of some pages. Very good condition.
