A bronze head sculpture titled “Laura” by Japanese sculptor Yasutake Funakoshi (1912–2002).
The work presents a calm and introspective female expression, modeled with restrained realism and soft surface transitions characteristic of Funakoshi’s postwar style.
Cast in bronze and mounted on a solid marble base bearing a nameplate engraved “Y. FUNAKOSHI”. The sculpture is signed on the bronze.

Yasutake Funakoshi (1912–2002) was a leading figure in modern Japanese sculpture.
He is known for his humanistic figurative works, particularly portrait heads that emphasize inner presence and quiet emotion rather than dramatic expression.
